sometimes you have to have spoonful of sugar in your tea, even if you don't want to, just to feel the buzz #truehedonism

How does the feed work?
What is a hashtag?
Why isn’t my tweet showing up in the feed?
Why do I see things that have nothing to do with this site in the feed?
The feed pulls in everything posted to twitter that contains the hashtag
#truehedonism
. In order to post to the feed you’ll need a twitter account. Everything you post to twitter that contains
#truehedonism
will then show up in the feed. If you want to comment on our trip or give suggestions you can sign in at the top where we’ve autofilled the hashtag for you OR you can post to twitter from anywhere else online and include the hashtag and it will show up here.
A hashtag is an easy way to identify tweets that pertain to specific subjects. By pulling all twitter posts which include
#truehedonism
we can easily show only what has to do with our trip. It’s obscure enough so that irrelevant tweets aren’t likely to include it and accidentally get pulled into our feed but it’s easy to remember for people who do want to participate.
Make sure that you have included the hashtag
#truehedonism
and that it’s spelled properly. The feed will only show tweets that clearly have
#truehedonism
in them. You must also make sure that your account isn’t locked. Go to settings and make sure “Protect my tweets” is NOT checked. There are also cases in which the feed will not pull in tweets from inactive accounts so if you’ve just set up a new account or don’t post very often you may have to become a more active twitter user in order to join us in the feed.
Because anything posted to twitter with
#truehedonism
in it can be pulled into the feed, we may end up with things that aren’t supposed to be there. We’ll try to monitor it so that it doesn’t get out of control but since this is a road trip and we plan to do a lot of camping there’s a chance some spam could get into the feed when we’re not looking. We’ll get to it as soon as we return to urbanity.
